My second week definitely went better that my first. The work was and is still very much NOT structured, but I guess that is just the Tanzanian way of living. Or maybe it is just the department where I work ;) Anyways, because I have not have that much work, I have been doing a lot of research about the different topics which we will be working with, among other Maasai women and their challenges and empowerment of the youth of Arusha. Maybe I also spent some of the time researching for those experiences I would like to receive while I visit the country. It is so cheap to live here as a local, but OMG when I want to try tourist attractions the level raises like crazy. Damn I'm not a rich white girl - do not steal all my money :O But off course I will go and let them steal all my money. The first safari trip has been booked, so here I go in mid May :D

Napuru Waterfall
Last Wednesday, I was invited to join Kirsten (a Danish woman, who works at TCDC) and her family for dinner. Which was very pleasant. I had a great time. The day after she introduced me to some other Danish women , who are here for holiday. Saturday, I joined them for a visit to Napuru waterfall. It was so beautiful scenic and the nature is stunning. It was very hard tough. The distance between the steps was tiny and then all of a sudden it was huuuuge. It took some concentration and I definitely felt my muscles the following days. After a nice lunch at the spot, we went back home to TCDC, where we had a chat and some beers. After that I was pickup by the family's driver, and I was ready to sleep ;) Haha
The picture to the left is called Babuun face, due to the fact that the shape of the rocks resembles a monkeys face.
The picture on top is women carrying firewood's on top of their head. It is amazing what they are able to be carrying on their head.
USA River market
Sunday is a fun day. I woke up way to early. I skipped breakfast and had a long morning in my bed. At 14.30, me and the niece of the house went to the local market, because I had some shopping to do. She showed me around and help me bargain. I ended up spending all my money, which was about 420 DKK. I did get a lot for those money, but I also need it, as I only brought 4 sets of clothes with me. I wish I could show you the market, but I have been warned not to show my valuable belongings as place like those, because some people have long fingers :O Therefore, you get a picture taking from inside one of the shops. The market was full of shops, so much that it was difficult to pass by ;)
After the market, we went on a 7 km walk, as she wanted to show me a hotel, where I will be able to buy access to the pool when the weather gets to warm. Who am I kidding? Even though it is rain season, it is hot as hell. Anyways I will go there in the weekends, if I do not have other plans. The cost is 20.000 TZS for a full day, which is 52 DKK. So that must be fair. A cheap tourist activity :D Wuhu
